COVID-19 had all of us in its iron grip last year, slowing and even closing down businesses and impacting not only the economy but individual lives. Still, it is a painful and long way out of this for most of us.  The majority is waiting in anticipation for the availability of vaccines in the hope of returning to normal. Normal? Will it be?

At NeBeSci Inc., foresight dictated the early closure and relocation of our Makati office in March 2020. Like many companies, we started operating from our homes, communicated via teleconferencing internally and externally, adjusted, re-organized, cut cost etc. Measures helping us through a messed up 2020, re-viewing not only on corporate but a personal level; –  finding the “reset button”.

Imposed health procedures, closures of routes and financial burdens restrict commercial airline operations, if not threatening their closures. Retrenchments are ongoing globally. Travellers face health checks and expensive quarantines at their own cost, aside from risking infections. Presently new mutations of the virus cause the closure of several recently opened airports in the region. It seems a bleak picture for the Commercial Aviation sector, particularly considering that international healthcare regulations will remain in place for a more extended period despite vaccination programs unless a vaccination passport provides a green entry lane.

Though having to deal with the same procedures, Corporate Aviation/GENAV appear to adjust and find a ‘new normal’ as aircraft are considered a necessary business tool and no mass transportation is utilized. Manifested by a renewed interest in and sales of private aircraft,  the sector already sees a recovery in the US and European market. We forecast the same to happen in Asia.
