Companies such as Siemens AG, Pipistrel, Yuneec, Alisport, Axter Aerospace, Geiger Engineering and many more as well as institutions such as GAMA or the University of Ulm will be presenting the latest aircraft powered by electric and hybrid propulsion systems as well as interesting alternatives to conventional propulsion systems.

Organised in co-operation with Flying Pages GmbH, the e-flight-expo will take place in Foyer West. The special exhibition will be accompanied by fascinating presentations to be given in Foyer East and in various lecture rooms as part of the AERO Conferences 2016.

Visitors can expect two e-flight world premieres at this year’s AERO: Pipistrel will be displaying the first hybrid aircraft in general aviation and e-volo will bring the Volocopter, the first manned multicopter for which a provisional certificate of airworthiness has been granted in Germany, to the AERO showgrounds.

In addition, electric propulsion systems for use on gliders will be explained at the AERO Conferences using the example of an ASG-32EL: electric propulsion is considered to be the propulsion system of the future in all fields of land, water and air transport. Energy supply continues to be the weakest link of the chain. However, research and development activities and thus energy and power density increase as market relevance increases, while prices are falling at the same time.
