New Aircraft

Stemme GmbH in Germany is a certified international mid-size aircraft manufacturer. The company is a leader in its market producing high-performance gliders with composite structures.

Based on the earlier Stemme S10, the Stemme S12 platform features a cantilever wing, a T-tail, a two-seat side-by-side configuration, a bubble canopy and a single engine with a retractable propeller.

The S12 platform consists of the models S12, S12-SW and S12 G. Furthermore Stemme produces the ES15 utility aircraft for government /defense clientele.

The aircraft is made from composite material. Its 25 m (82.0 ft) span wing employs winglets. The mid-fuselage-mounted engine is the 115 hp (86 kW) Rotax 914 F2/S1 four-stroke turbocharged powerplant driving a retractable, folding, variable-pitch propeller. Its maximum glide ratio is 53:1.

The Stemme foldable and variable pitch propeller is installed in the Stemme Twin Voyager S12 and disappears completely into the propeller dome. To start the propeller, the dome slides out and the propeller blades unfold. It takes just 5 seconds to convert from glide mode to engine mode.

A separate baggage compartment is integrated into the fuselage, providing space for hand luggage significantly expanding your touring options.

An autopilot is part of the richly equipped cockpit. With its innovative electrical trim equipment, the pilot is given the perfect tool for superlative performance.

The solid and safe one-piece canopy offers great panoramic views. The side-by-side alignment is ideal for sharing workloads, using the same avionics or simply for pure recreation—just as in conventional planes. The center-tunnel-fairing provides additional storage space for your smartphone, notebook and other onboard companions.

With its compact wingspan, the S12 platform provides light and easy handling, featuring a higher roll rate in the air and better manoeuvrability on the ground. The extremely flexible S12 models open up new flying horizons.

With a glide ratio of up to 1:50 / 1:53, the S12 models unite the qualities of easy travelling and gliding – the perfect choice for cruise flights to comfortably reach your desired gliding hotspot and find the lift you need.

The aircraft features state-of-the-art winglets in a modern design for optimised aerodynamics. Out of the box, it comes with AVEO's integrated Starlet Winglet™ solution. The optional collision avoidance LED Strip is integrated into the propeller dome, connected to the FLARM for higher visibility during flight.

The equipment offers everything at a glance. Multiple configurations are individually customisable upon request.

The panel size is optimised for generous all-around visibility in a comfortable side-by-side cockpit. Nothing distracts from the fascination of flying and the great feeling of mastering natural forces.

Advanced flight display technology at the Stemme Grand Tourer provides a 7" touch screen, coming with built-in ADHRS, Digital Engine Monitoring, Moving Map Navigation and Autopilot control.

The more ergonomic, accurate and reliable than conventional instruments, make flying more enjoyable, improving the pilot's situational awareness.

The S15 is developed from the S12 platform and is also an all-composite construction, powered sailplane with the engine mounted in the centre of the fuselage. The cockpit has room for two in a side-by-side configuration that enables mounting of a rack with scientific equipment in place of the co-pilot seat, considering that the aircraft can be operated as a single-piloted platform. It has a three-blade constant-speed propeller, a conventional T-tail and a retractable and steerable nose wheel landing gear. It also features a 2-axis autopilot system for elevator and aileron control. It can reach a maximum ceiling of 16000 ft above mean sea level and the endurance is ca. 6 hours with a max range of 1100 km.

The Stemme S15 has a shoulder wing equipped with underwing pods for equipment installation. It also features a payload compartment in the rear of the fuselage’s midsection and the possibility to mount a rack with scientific equipment in the place of the co-pilot seat. The max payload is 200 kg for one crew member (pilot) and 110 kg for two crew members (pilot and operator). The max mass of the external pods is 80 kg each one with a max asymmetric mass difference in pods of 30 kg.
